Saffron rice:

Saffron rice as a side dish may not be missing in the Persian kitchen. For our customers we provide the original Saffron Rice recipe. With this recipe every Persian woman can claim to be able to cook the best saffron rice. 1 cup of rice is calculated per person.

We calculate with 1 cup of rice per person.

For 2 Servings:

2 cups of rice, approximately 300 grams

6 to 7 cups of water

1 tablespoon of salt

3 tablespoons olive oil

0.20 gram of saffron threads

Cooking time: 35 minutes

In Persian cuisine saffron rice is indispensable as a side dish. We offer the original saffron rice recipe here for our customers. With this saffron rice recipe every Persian woman can claim to be able to cook the best saffron rice.

Preparation:


Wash the rice several times thoroughly with warm water until the water is clear, and then pour away the water.

Bring 6-7 cups of water with salt to a boil, add the washed rice and cook it al dente for about 8-9 min (stir the rice every 2 minutes).

Now pour the rice through a sieve and let it drain WELL. Give the 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the pot and add the rice (do not stir).

Wrap the pot lid with a kitchen towel and cover it. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes at a very low heat, so that the rice grains fall loosely from the spoon.

Before you serve the rice, melt 25 grams of butter and spread it over the cooked rice.

Grind the saffron threads well and add it to a cup half full with hot water. Add approximately 5 tablespoons of the cooked rice and stir well.
