Boiled potatoes with saffron
This recipe is not just about normal boiled potatoes. Refined with saffron threads, they are a real treat and go very well with fish, meat and vegetables. That is how easy it is to turn boring potatoes into a gourmet side dish!
Level of difficulty: easy
Working time: approx. 25 minutes
Ingredients for 2 people:
approx. 400 grams potatoes
2 tablespoons salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
0,20 gram saffron threads
2 small ginger slices
3 small chilli peppers
Preparation
Peel the potatoes and cook them in a broth made of saffron threads, ginger slices, chilli peppers and plenty of salt. Saffron is water-soluble and develops its colour and flavour very well in the broth, giving the potatoes a particularly beautiful colour. To serve, remove the potatoes from the broth with a skimmer. The remaining saffron broth can be used for fish or chicken soup.
Our tip: When serving, decorate the potatoes with some saffron threads and some olive oil. You can also easily grind the saffron threads with the help of our saffron grinder and decide for yourself how fine the grinding should be.
