Chicken in carrot and plum sauce
This recipe is a traditional Persian dish. The combination of sourly sweet plums in a hearty sauce is excellent. The longer cooking time makes the chicken incredibly tender and the carrots remain firm to the bite.

Working time: approx. 50 minutes
Ingredients for 2 people:
200 g carrots
200 g chicken breast
200 g dried plums (best from a Turkish supermarket)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch of pepper
0,5 g saffron threads
5 tbsp olive oil
Cut the onion into small pieces and sauté briefly in the pan with the olive oil. Add the chicken and carrots and sauté. Then add approx. 2 cups of water and the plums, saffron threads, pepper and salt and mix well. Simmer at low heat for about 45 minutes.
Our tip: Saffron rice or mashed potatoes are excellent as a side dish.
